LINEAR DEFINITION

The word linear comes from the Latin word linearis, which means created by lines.

Linear Definition: Of or pertaining to a line; consisting of lines; in a straight direction; lineal.

Linear algebra is a branch of mathematics concerned with the study of vectors , with families of vectors called vector space or linear spaces, and with functions that input one vector and output another, according to certain rules. Linear algebra is central to modern mathematics and its applications.

A linear equation is an algebraic equation in which each term is either a constant or the product of a constant and (the first power of) a single variable

Linear Expression is a mathematical statement that performs functions of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

Linear regression analyzes the relationship between two variables, X and Y. Linear regression line can be used as a standard curve to find new values of X from Y, or Y from X. the goal of linear regression is to find the line that best predicts Y from X. Linear regression does this by finding the line that minimizes the sum of the squares of the vertical distances of the points from the line.

Linear Regression Formula:-

Regression Equation(y) = a + bx
Slope(b) = (NΣXY - (ΣX)(ΣY)) / (NΣX2 - (ΣX)2)
Intercept(a) = (ΣY - b(ΣX)) / N
